2015 Boston Red Sox Minor League Recaps

The Red Sox farm system is filled with talent, but that does not guarantee success for the minor league affiliates. In Brandon Magee‘s Boston Red Sox minor league recaps, he details the ups and downs of Boston’s affiliates in 2015.

Pawtucket Red Sox Recap – The Pawtucket Red Sox were ravaged by call ups and underperformance on their way to a 59-85 season.

Pawtucket Red Sox Offensive Review – The PawSox offense struggled to score runs which contributed to their subpar season.

Pawtucket Red Sox Pitching Review – The rotation and bullpen of the PawSox did not receive help from the offense, but they didn’t hold up their end of the bargain either.

Portland Sea Dogs Recap – The Sea Dogs went 53-89 losing 35 more games than they lost in 2014.

Portland Sea Dogs Offensive Review – Portland was lucky enough to witness the promotions of Sam Travis and Manuel Margot, but they were still unable to score enough runs to make this a good team.

Portland Sea Dogs Pitching Review – The pitching staff for the Sea Dogs was the second worst in the Eastern League, which helps explain the terrible record.

Salem Red Sox Recap – The Salem Red Sox missed out on the playoffs for the first time in three years with a 66-73 record.

Salem Red Sox Offensive Review – Salem’s offense was good at getting guys on base, but often failed at getting those runners home.

Salem Red Sox Pitching Review – The Red Sox pitching staff was one of the worst in the Carolina League, and it showed with the team’s abysmal record when the offense failed to score 4 or more runs.

Greenville Drive Recap – The Drive had an interesting season with one of the most talented rosters in all of the minor leagues.

Greenville Drive Offensive Review – Greenville’s offense led the league in runs while also striking out the most.

Greenville Drive Pitching Review – The Drive’s pitching staff was slightly below average which was to be expected as they were also the fourth youngest staff.

Lowell Spinners Recap – The Spinners started the season off strong, but faded late in the season, missing the playoffs.

GCL Red Sox Recap – The Red Sox squad won the GCL championship, showing off some of the young talent in the Boston system.

Red Sox Short Season Offensive Review – The Lowell Spinners and GCL Red Sox’ were one of the worst and simply average, respectively.

Red Sox Short Season Pitching Review – The short season teams’ staffs were young for their leagues, but the GCL Red Sox still managed to have the best staff in the league.

DSL Red Sox Review – The Red Sox had two teams in the DSL and they did not have similar results.
