Salem Red Sox (22-16/62-45)

Four hits & 14 Ks add up to a 2-1 defeat for Salem

Logan Boyd returned to the Salem rotation, letting in a run on five hits and three walks over six frames; striking out six and unleashing a wild pitch. Austin Glorius coughed up two walks and a triple over the final two innings, allowing the winning run in the eighth. Glorius did put five Ks on the board, however.

Chris Madera managed an RBI single in the fifth, his only hit in three attempts – however, Madera was the only Salem man not to go down by way of the K. Tate Matheny, Jordan Betts, and Jose Sermo each served up a single in four at-bats. Nick Lovullo took a base on balls in three trips. Tyler Spoon and Austin Rei were unable to reach in three excursions; Rei leading the K parade with three. Josh Ockimey and Jeremy Rivera each had a quartet of futile forays.

Greenville Drive (17-19/58-47)

Mata mauled by Tourists, Greenville goes down to defeat 5-2

Bryan Mata managed only 3 ⅔ innings, yielding four runs on five hits, two walks, and a hit by pitch; on the positive side, he struck out seven. Algenis Martinez allowed one run on a Max George gopher ball, also giving up a single while whiffing five in 3 ⅓ innings. Hunter Smith walked three and struck out one in two innings of scoreless relief.

Roldani Baldwin and Steven Reveles each ripped two hits in four at-bats; Baldwin belting a double. Santiago Espinal and Lorenzo Cedrola each contributed a single in four jaunts. Ryan Scott scorched a sacrifice fly and drew a walk in four appearances. Bobby Dalbec and Mitch Gunsolus each were granted a free pass amid three hitless treks. Tucker Tubbs and Carlos Tovar suffered four fruitless forays.

Lowell Spinners (17-22)

Spinners wallop 17 hits in 10-3 Tiger beating

Enmanuel De Jesus surrendered two singles and two doubles over 5 ⅓ scoreless innings; striking out five. Ryan Oduber tossed 1 ⅔ scoreless innings while giving up one hit before running out of gas and allowing three runs on four consecutive hits to start the eighth. Joan Martinez quelled the Tiger riot, giving up a single and a walk while whiffing a pair in two scoreless frames.

Garrett Benge banged out five hits and drove in five runs in five perfect plate appearances; Benge belted three singles, a double, and a triple. Brett Netzer notched three hits – two singles and a double – in five at-bats. Frankie Rios reached thrice with two singles and a walk in five forays. Juan Barriento blooped two singles in five jaunts. Marino Campana chipped in two singles over four trips before being relieved by Alexander Martinez, who struck out in his only attempt. Nicholos Hamilton, Jordan Wren, and Samuel Miranda each struck a single in five excursions. Raiwinson Lameda launched a sacrifice fly amid four hitless treks.

GCL Red Sox (15-14)

Rain in Florida kept the Os and Sox in the clubhouse. They will attempt a double dip today.

DSL Red Sox (30-16)

Six singles can’t produce a run, Red Sox shut out in game one 6-0

Luis Colmenares allowed a run on three hits, two walks, and two wild pitches over four innings; whiffing a trio. Shair Lacrus offered no relief, surrendering five runs – three earned – on two singles, two doubles, and a Kenneth Betancourt blast, while striking out a pair.

Angel Gonzalez garnered a pair of singles in three at-bats. Willis Figueroa found first base twice with a single and a walk in three appearances. Keibert Petit, Ivan Houellemont, and Marcos Martinez each punched a single in three trips. Freiberg Marin took a free pass amid two hitless jaunts. Lewis Baez struck out once in his two hitless treks. Luis Hernandez and Fabian Andrade each had three frustrating forays.

DSL Dodgers drop six on Sox in fourth, win game two 8-5

Manuel Ramirez relinquished four runs – three earned – on four hits and a walk in 3 ⅓ innings; striking out four while uncorking a quartet of wild pitches. Yasel Santana picked up the final two outs of the fourth, but surrendered three runs on two hits and two walks. Carlos Cortes contributed two scoreless frames, allowing two hits and a walk while whiffing two. Johan Martinez yielded a run on a hit and two walks in the final inning.

Ivan Houellemont hammered three singles and swiped two bags in four at-bats. Keibert Petit placed two singles and drew a walk in four appearances. Angel Gonzalez golfed a single and a double in four trips. Ivan Jimenez had a single and a walk in four jaunts. Jesus Chacon chipped in a single and a stolen base in three excursions. Ronaldo Pulgar ripped a single in four treks. Jose Mejias managed to get plunked, earn a free pass, and steal a base in four junkets. Reinaldo Ugueto was plunked once in four ups. Luis Torres struck out once in three failed forays.
