Pawtucket Red Sox (57-59)

Haley strikes out ten, PawSox hold on for 6-5 victory

Justin Haley hurled 98-pitches over 6 ⅔ frames, allowing three runs on five hits – including roundtrippers to Rymer Liriano and Cody Asche – and a hit by pitch while whiffing ten. Robby Scott surrendered a hit and a walk in 1 ⅓ scoreless innings. Noe Ramirez relinquished two runs on a walk and two hits – including a two-out, two-run gopher ball to Casey Gillaspie – while striking out one.

Brian Bogusevic and Sam Travis each swatted two hits in four trips; Bogusevic blasting his eighth bomb of the season. Bryce Brentz and Mike Miller each muscled a single and drew a walk in four matchups. Rusney Castillo contributed a single in four at-bats. Ryan Court took two free passes in four junkets. Dan Butler and Matt Dominguez each earned a base on balls in four appearances. Deven Marrero was unable to reach in three depressing deeds.

Portland Sea Dogs (55-58)

Chavis connects on #29, Portland pummels Richmond 9-4

Teddy Stankiewicz surrendered four runs on three walks and eight hits – including quadrangulars from Caleb Gindl and Dylan Davis – while striking out a trio in 6 ⅔ frames. Trevor Kelley walked one and struck out one in 1 ⅓ innings. Bobby Poyner yielded a double and struck out a batter in a scoreless ninth; lowering his AA ERA to 0.30.

Jeremy Barfield belted two singles and a double in five jaunts. Michael Chavis contributed a single, a hit by pitch, and his 12th homer for Portland – 29th overall – in five matchups. Josh Ockimey obtained two singles and a walk in five appearances. Mike Olt muscled two singles in five at-bats. Chad De La Guerra delivered a single and a walk in five trips. Jordan Procyshen poked a single in four junkets. Danny Mars and Josh Tobias each managed a hit in five forays; Tobias thumping a double. Cole Sturgeon lifted a sacrifice fly amid three hitless sessions.

Salem Red Sox (25-21/65-50)

Gorst gives up the winning run in the ninth, Salem defeated 3-2

Roniel Raudes relinquished a pair of runs on two walks and six hits – including a Jake Rogers jack – while whiffing a quintet over five innings. Austin Glorius gave up only a walk in three near-perfect frames. Matthew Gorst gave up three hits and the winning run in the ninth, striking out one.

Conrad Gregor continued his assault on Carolina League pitching, contributing two singles, two walks, and added a stolen base in his four chances. Jeremy Rivera and Jordan Betts each ripped two hits in four jaunts; Betts blasting a double and a bomb. Jose Sermo served up a single and took a free pass in four appearances. Jhon Nunez and Tyler Spoon each swatted a single in four at-bats. Chris Madera singled once in five matchups. Tate Matheny and Nick Lovullo languished in four frustrating forays.

Greenville Drive (23-22/64-50)

Drive crush Cease with five in the first, cruise past Kannapolis 6-1

Hildemaro Requena relinquished a run on five hits and a walk over six strong frames; whiffing three. Algenis Martinez managed the final three innings, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out a quartet.

Santiago Espinal slugged a triple and a single while taking a walk and stealing a base in five excursions. Tyler Hill hit a single and took two free passes in five trips; he also stole three more bases to go to 37 on the season. Mitch Gunsolus golfed a double and was gifted a base on balls in four matchups. Brett Netzer notched a double and a hit by pitch in five appearances. Ryan Scott scorched a single and a sacrifice fly in five sessions. Isaias Lucena laced a single in four tries. Tucker Tubbs took a walk amid three hitless treks. Jagger Rusconi struck out thrice in four junky jaunts. Bobby Dalbec whiffed four times in five failed forays.

Kannapolis starter Dylan Cease garnered only two outs before being pulled in the top of the first.

Lowell Spinners (22-25)

Lowell with a let down, loses 7-2 to Tri-City

Nick Duron was dinged for four runs on four hits – including taters from Adrian Tovalin and Jonathan Arauz – and two walks over four frames; Duron did whiff six. Taylor Ahearn allowed two runs on four hits and a wild pitch in just 1 ⅓ innings; striking out one. Durin O’Linger let in one run on three hits and a walk while completing the final 3 ⅔ frames; whiffing a trio while uncorking a pitch to the backstop.

Nicholos Hamilton singled and stole a base in his only trip; he left the game after being doubled off second base in the third and was replaced by Steven Reveles who struck out both times he came to the plate. Juan Barriento bopped a single and took a base on balls in four jaunts. Garrett Benge and Marino Campana each connected on a hit in four at-bats; Campana with a double. Samuel Miranda managed a free pass and two whiffs in three matchups. Michael Osinski obtained a base on balls amid three hitless appearances. Yomar Valentin had three failed ventures. Raiwinson Lameda and Yoan Aybar failed to reach in four frustrating forays; Aybar whiffing thrice.

GCL Red Sox (20-19)

Sox leave 11 on the bags in a 4-1 defeat

Angel Padron pitched six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and a wild pitch; striking out four. Hunter Haworth gave up a run on three hits over two frames in his professional debut, whiffing one. Alejandro Rodriguez struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Everlouis Lozada laced three singles and a triple in four perfect at-bats; he was caught stealing once. Ramfis Berroa bopped two singles in four trips. Jecorrah Arnold hit a single and took a walk in four junkets. Kervin Suarez and Ricardo Cubillan each contributed a single and a walk in five sessions. Pedro Castellanos chipped a single in four attempts. David Durden was hit by a pitch and struck out three times. Eduard Conde was unable to reach in two excursions after relieving Blake Swihart who struck out once in his three treks. Juan Carlos Abreu suffered four fizzled forays.

DSL Red Sox (36-19)

Rincones brings in the only run with a ninth-inning triple, Sox win 1-0

Alexander Montero managed the first five innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four. Carlos Cortes contributed three scoreless frames, giving up two hits, a hit by pitch, and a walk while whiffing a pair. Alberto Franco shut the door in the ninth with a 1-2-3 inning, striking out two.

Keibert Petit procured a single and two walks – including a two-out walk in the ninth – in four treks. Rafael Rincones only hit in four at-bats was a ninth-inning triple that scored Petit with the only run of the game. Jonathan Diaz delivered a single in three jaunts. Freiberg Marin muscled a single and stole a base in four matchups. Marcos Martinez walked once in three trips. Luis Hernandez and Angel Gonzalez were unable to reach in three attempts. Ivan Houellemont and Lewis Baez suffered four fruitless forays.
