Pawtucket Red Sox (59-59)

Six in the fourth see the PawSox cruise to an 8-1 victory

Roenis Elias went 6 ⅔ strong innings in his latest rehab start, allowing a run on solo roundtripper by Richie Shaffer. Elias gave up another four hits and two walks in his start while whiffing five. Kyle Martin managed to go a scoreless 1 ⅓ frames despite giving up four singles and a walk; Martin k’ed three. Austin Maddox whiffed all three men he faced in a perfect ninth.

Tzu-Wei Lin lined a single and two doubles in five trips. Deven Marrero muscled a single and a double in four at-bats. Sam Travis and Brian Bogusevic each bopped a single and drew a walk in four treks. Matt Dominguez delivered a moonshot and was hit by a pitch in four matchups. Bryce Brentz blasted his 27th bomb, his only hit in four attempts. Rusney Castillo launched his 14th roundtripper in five attempts. Steve Selsky walked once amid three hitless appearances. Dan Butler struck out twice in four forlorned forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (56-59)

Portland can’t beat the BaySox or the rain, lose 4-2 in game ended after five

Trey Ball was tapped for four runs on three walks and nine hits – including homers by Austin Hays and Aderlin Rodriguez – over 4 ⅓ innings; striking out three. Jacob Dahlstrand delivered the final two outs of the fifth before the rains ended the game.

Josh Tobias and Jeremy Barfield each bopped two hits in two jaunts; Barfield blasting his 21th bomb, Tobias was caught stealing. Cole Sturgeon and Chad De La Guerra each swatted a hit in three at-bats; Sturgeon with a double. Jordan Procyshen dropped a sacrifice bunt in two junkets. Michael Chavis, Josh Ockimey, Mike Olt, and Henry Urrutia were unable to reach in two ups.

Salem Red Sox (25-23/65-52)

Blue Rocks stone Salem, 4-2

Mike Shawaryn surrendered three runs on three hits and four walks in 2 ⅔ innings; striking out one. Marc Brakeman allowed a run on two hits and two walks over 3 ⅔ frames; whiffing a trio. Harrison Cooney gave up two hits and two walks in 2 ⅔ scoreless innings; whiffing one and uncorking a wild pitch.

Jose Sermo swatted a single and his 11th jack in four jaunts, he also stole a base. Jordan Betts blooped a single and took a base on balls in four attempts. Nick Lovullo laced a single in three tries. Chris Madera, Tate Matheny, Austin Rei, and Tyler Spoon each served up a hit in four at-bats; Rei ripping a double. Jeremy Rivera and Conrad Gregor each had a quartet of junky jaunts.

Greenville Drive (25-22/66-50)

Baldwin’s pinch single in the eighth brings in the only run. Drive walk-off with a 1-0 win in game one

Darwinzon Hernandez handled the Braves in his 6 ⅓ inning start, giving up two hits, two walks, and a hit by pitch while whiffing an octet. Robby Sexton surrendered only a walk in his 1 ⅔ relief frames; striking out a trio.

Roldani Baldwin singled with the bases juiced in the bottom of the eighth as a pinch-hitter for Tucker Tubbs, who had singled once in three trips. Tyler Hill and Santiago Espinal each swatted two singles in four at-bats; Hill was picked off once. Ryan Scott secured a single and a walk in four sessions. Mitch Gunsolus was granted two singles in three matchups. Brett Netzer notched a pair of bases on balls in four trips. Isaias Lucena and Jagger Rusconi were unable to reach in three jaunts; Lucena whiffing all three times up. Bobby Dalbec whiffed thrice in four frustrating forays.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed until this afternoon.

Lowell Spinners (23-26)

Infield single scores Rios in the eighth, Spinners slice Auburn 4-3

Enmanuel De Jesus yielded three runs – two earned – on seven hits – including a Chance Shepard shot – and a walk over five frames; striking out seven and unleashing a wild pitch. Ryan Oduber relinquished only a walk in two scoreless innings; whiffing a trio. Lukas Young earned his first professional win with two scoreless frames, giving up a single and a walk while whiffing one.

Juan Barriento and Michael Osinski each obtained a single, a double, and a walk in four matchups; Osinski adding a stolen base. Frankie Rios and Marino Campana each chipped in with a single and a double in four at-bats; Campana was picked off twice. Yoan Aybar dropped a sacrifice bunt and a single in four attempts. Zach Sterry walked twice in four sessions. Alexander Martinez and Yomar Valentin were unsuccessful in three ventures. Charlie Madden managed four fruitless forays.

GCL Red Sox (20-21)

Behenna blows up in the ninth, Red Sox walk-off with a 4-3 loss

Rayniel Adames allowed three runs – one earned – on two hits and three walks in just 1 ⅔ innings; striking out one. Marcos Lantigua logged the final out of the second inning. Jose Gonzalez went two scoreless innings, giving up a hit and striking out one. Alejandro Rodriguez relinquished a single and a walk over four scoreless frames; whiffing a pair. Kory Behenna yielded the winning run on three singles and a sacrifice bunt in the ninth.

Kervin Suarez and Pedro Castellanos each contributed a pair of hits in five at-bats; Suarez slugging his second long ball of the season, Castellanos knocking a double. Juan Carlos Abreu notched a triple, a stolen base, and was hit by a pitch in four jaunts. Tyler Dearden singled and walked in four trips. Alberto Schmidt dropped a sacrifice bunt and was hit by two pitches in four sessions. Blake Swihart walked twice in five treks. Ramfis Berroa struck out three times and was hit by a pitch. Ricardo Cubillan contributed a walk in five ventures. Jecorrah Arnold had four fizzled forays.

DSL Red Sox (38-19)

Red Sox win on a sacrifice fly in the 11th, 4-3

Isaac Pinales allowed two runs on three hits, two hit by pitches, and two walks over five innings; striking out four. Manuel Ramirez relinquished an unearned run on three hits, a hit by pitch, and two walks over 2 ⅓ innings; whiffing one. Alberto Franco tossed 1 ⅔ scoreless innings, giving up a hit and striking out one. Geraldo Perez granted only an intentional walk in his two scoreless innings; whiffing a pair.

Reinaldo Ugueto filled up the scoresheet with two singles, a double, an intentional walk, and a hit by pitch in six ups. Keibert Petit procured a single, a double, and a walk in five treks. Angel Gonzalez dropped a single and a sacrifice bunt in five appearances. Marcos Martinez muscled a single in five at-bats; scoring the winning run as the “extra-inning runner.” Rafael Rincones received two free passes in five trips. Freiberg Marin lifted the game-winning sacrifice fly in the 11th, also drawing a walk in six sessions. Fabian Andrade walked once in four attempts before being replaced by Jonathan Diaz, who took an intentional walk in the 10th. Luis Hernandez was hit by a pitch once in his four ventures before being relieved by Ivan Houellemont who popped out in the 10th. Ronaldo Pulgar was unable to reach in four failed forays before being lifted for Willis Figueroa in the 11th; Figueroa was granted an intentional base on balls.
