Pawtucket Red Sox (65-72)

PawSox score four in the 12th, hold on for a 7-5 win

Roenis Elias struck out one in his one-inning start. Shawn Haviland surrendered three runs on four hits and four walks over five frames; whiffing one and uncorking a wild pitch. Austin Maddox loaded the bases on a single and two walks in the seventh, but induced a pop-up and an 8-2 (Bogusevic to Romanski) double play to end the inning. Chandler Shepherd gave up three hits and a walk in four scoreless innings; striking out a quartet. Williams Jerez yielded two runs on two hits – including a Teoscar Hernandez homer – while striking out one in the 12th.

Sam Travis thumped three hits – ending a triple shy of the cycle – drew a walk and stole a base in six sessions. Deven Marrero delivered two singles and a double and struck out three times in six at-bats; he also stole a base.  Mike Miller muscled two singles, earned a free pass, and stole a base in five matchups. Matt Dominguez dropped two singles and took a base on balls in six appearances. Heiker Meneses, Bryce Brentz, and Ryan Court each singled once in six junkets; Court also stole a base. Brian Bogusevic was given an intentional free pass amid five hitless attempts. Jake Romanski suffered five junky jaunts.


Portland Sea Dogs (62-73)

Stank gives up three in the second, Sea Dogs can’t come back in a 4-3 defeat

Teddy Stankiewicz surrendered four runs on eight hits – including a three-run jack by Juan Ciriaco in the second – while whiffing nine in six innings. Josh Smith walked one and struck out two in two scoreless frames.

Michael Chavis crushed a double and his 30th home run in four at-bats. Cole Sturgeon stung two singles in four trips. Jeremy Barfield blasted a two-run bomb in the ninth and drew a free pass in four jaunts. Jordan Procyshen punched a single in three attempts. Josh Ockimey obtained a single in four junkets. Mike Olt went hitless in three matchups. Henry Urrutia, Josh Tobias, and Chad De La Guerra each suffered four ugly ups.


Salem Red Sox (32-33/72-62)

McGrath gives up a run in the tenth, Salem walk off the field with a 2-1 defeat

Kyle Hart yielded a run on six hits and three walks in seven frames; striking out four. Matthew Gorst gave up two hits and two walks in his 1 ⅔ scoreless innings. Daniel McGrath got the final out in the ninth; but was unable to get an out in the tenth. McGrath had the first batter reach on an error by third baseman Jordan Betts, then gave up a single, an intentional walk, and another single to lead to the walk-off loss.

Conrad Gregor golfed a home run and a single while stealing a bag in four at-bats. Tate Matheny muscled a single and drew a walk in four trips. Austin Rei ripped a single and was hit by a pitch in four appearances. Chris Madera clubbed a single in four matchups. Nick Lovullo dropped a sacrifice bunt amid three hitless ventures. Jordan Betts, Jose Sermo, and Jeremy Rivera suffered four junky jaunts. Bryan Hudson struck out twice in five forlorned forays.


Greenville Drive (36-29/77-57)

Drive score the final five runs in a 6-1 victory

Bryan Mata allowed one run on six hits and two walks over six frames; striking out seven. Lukas Young yielded a single and struck out one in two scoreless innings. Juan Florentino gave up two hits and struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth.

Santiago Espinal and Tucker Tubbs each thumped three hits in four excursions; Espinal a double shy of the cycle, Tubbs with a pair of taters. Bobby Dalbec drove his 11th bomb and took a walk in four appearances. Jerry Downs, Ryan Scott, and Roldani Baldwin each had a hit in four jaunts; Baldwin with a double, Scott with a triple. Jagger Rusconi walked once and stole second in four junkets. Mitch Gunsolus struck out twice in three matchups. Brett Netzer went hitless in four frustrating forays.


Lowell Spinners (31-35)

Five in the fourth put the Spinners on top for good; win 6-5

Tanner Houck was hammered for four runs – one earned – on four hits and a walk over two frames; whiffing a quartet. Denyi Reyes kept the Yankees off the board in his four frames; giving up three hits and striking out three. Dominic LoBrutto let in one run on a solo quadrangular by Kendall Coleman while scattering three other hits and two walks in his three innings; whiffing a trio.

Raiwinson Lameda lined two singles and drew a walk in his perfect day at the plate. Yoan Aybar yanked two singles and took a free pass in four appearances. Yomar Valentin, Samuel Miranda, and Nicholos Hamilton each had a hit in three ventures; Valentin with a double and a caught stealing, Miranda with a double, and Hamilton was caught stealing twice. Frankie Rios ripped a single in four trips. Juan Barriento was hit by a pitch in his two jaunts before being replaced by Alexander Martinez who had two hitless matchups. Michael Osinski and Garrett Benge each whiffed twice in four fruitless forays.


GCL Red Sox (25-30)

Comeback falls short, Sox lose 8-7

Fernando Rodriguez relinquished a run on two hits and a wild pitch in the first inning; striking out one in his Red Sox debut. Oddanier Mosqueda was mauled for six runs on seven hits and two walks in 2 ⅓ innings; striking out two and uncorking a pitch to the backstop. Ritzi Mendoza allowed a run on three hits and a walk over 1 ⅔ frames; whiffing a pair. Francisco Lopez-Soto surrendered a hit, a walk, and a wild pitch over two scoreless innings; striking out a trio. Kory Behenna walked one and whiffed one in a scoreless eighth. Marcos Lantigua allowed a single and struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth.

Kervin Suarez swatted three singles in five treks. Ramfis Berroa, Ricardo Cubillan, and David Durden each delivered two hits in four at-bats; Berroa with a triple. Everlouis Lozada laced two singles in five excursions. Tyler Dearden doubled and was hit by a pitch in four appearances. Tyler Esplin singled and took a walk in five ventures. Eduard Conde connected for a single in four trips. Pedro Castellanos put five balls in play, but was sent back to the dugout each time.


DSL Red Sox (1-2)

Sox score a run in the sixth, defeat the Dodgers in the suspended game 3-2

Alexander Montero allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in four frames on Tuesday, striking out two. Yasel Santana surrendered a single in the fifth inning on Tuesday. Kelvin Sanchez went 2 ⅔ scoreless frames on Wednesday, giving up three hits and two walks while whiffing a trio. Alberto Franco picked up the final four outs in order.

Freiberg Marin, Jonathan Diaz, Marcos Martinez, and Luis Hernandez each hit a single in four at-bats. Luis Torres took two free passes and struck out once in his three trips. Angel Gonzalez and Ivan Houellemont each had a walk in four appearances. Willis Figueroa and Keibert Petit each struck out once in four fizzled forays.

Sox surrender five in the fifth, end the season with a 7-5 defeat

Rafael Gomez gave up three runs on five hits, a walk, and a hit by pitch in four innings and one batter; striking out five. Manuel Ramirez relinquished two runs – one earned – on a walk and a hit by pitch; retiring only one batter (via strikeout). Carlos Cortes was able to secure the final two outs of the fifth, but not before yielding two unearned runs on two hits; he too struck out one. Geraldo Perez pitched two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and punching out a pair. Antonio Police walked two and whiffed two in his two scoreless frames.

Freiberg Marin muscled two doubles and walked twice in five matchups. Ivan Houellemont singled twice in five at-bats; he was picked off once and caught stealing another time. Luis Hernandez hit a single and took two free passes before giving way to Reinaldo Ugueto who struck out in the eighth. Keibert Petit procured a single and three bases on balls in five treks. Lewis Baez blooped a single in two attempts after replacing Angel Gonzalez who golfed a single and drew a walk in three appearances. Fabian Andrade singled in the eighth for Luis Torres who looped a single in three trips. Jonathan Diaz drew two free passes in five jaunts; he was also caught stealing. Willis Figueroa found first via a base on balls amid four hitless ventures. Marcos Martinez dropped a sacrifice bunt amid four futile forays.
