Pawtucket Red Sox (54-59)

Elias still rusty, PawSox dumped 7-5

Roenis Elias relinquished six runs on eight hits – including moonshots from Miguel Andujar, Billy McKinney, and Ji-Man Choi – and a hit by pitch; whiffing a trio while committing a balk and uncorking a wild pitch over 5 ⅓ innings. Austin Maddox allowed a run on a hit and three walks in 1 ⅓ frames; striking out a pair. Robby Scott faced one man in the seventh, picking up the out. Noe Ramirez notched a 1-2-3 eighth with one K.

Brian Bogusevic and Matt Dominguez each delivered two hits in four at-bats; Bogusevic blooped a single and a double, Dominguez drove a double and a homer. Tzu-Wei Lin laced a single and a double in five trips. Mike Miller and Ryan Court contributed a hit in four junkets; Court ripping a double. Rusney Castillo connected for a sacrifice fly and was hit by a pitch in four appearances. Sam Travis took two free passes in five ventures. Jake Romanski and Steve Selsky suffered four failed forays.


Portland Sea Dogs (53-58)

Henry Owens yielded only three runs in five innings despite five hits – including a gopher ball to Adrian Marin – six walks, and a hit by pitch; striking out seven and uncorking two pitches to the backstop. Taylor Grover gave up a run on two hits while whiffing two in two frames. Ty Buttrey battled for two scoreless innings, granting two hits and a walk while striking out three. Josh Smith surrendered a hit and a hit by pitch in a scoreless tenth; whiffing a pair.

Jordan Procyshen pelted two singles and a double in five at-bats. Josh Tobias and Danny Mars each muscled two hits and earned a walk in five appearances; Tobias with a jack. Deiner Lopez laced a single and laid down a sacrifice bunt in his first four trips before taking the game-winning ball four in the bottom of the tenth. Jeremy Barfield bashed his 20th bomb and earned a base on balls in four jaunts before giving way to pinch-runner Cole Sturgeon, who would stay in the game and go hitless in his one attempt. Mike Olt mashed a tater and dropped a sacrifice bunt in five matchups – he also reached on an error in the tenth and was pinch-run for by Chad De La Guerra, who scored the winning run. Joseph Monge managed a single in five junkets. Josh Ockimey obtained a walk in five excursions. Michael Chavis struck out twice in five fruitless forays.


Salem Red Sox (24-20/64-49)

Balanced attack propels the Red Sox to victory, 10-3

Logan Boyd allowed four singles and two walks in six scoreless frames; striking out four. Pat Goetze gave up a single and struck out a trio in two scoreless innings. Daniel McGrath was only able to record two outs, yielding three runs – one earned – on a single and three walks. Marc Brakeman successfully ended the Pelicans’ threat, inducing a ground ball to end the game.

Conrad Gregor connected for a single and a double and walked twice in five appearances. Victor Acosta singled twice and took a free pass in five ventures. Chris Madera muscled a single and a triple while taking a base on balls in six sessions. Austin Rei ripped a single, took two walks, and stole a base in five forays. Nick Lovullo and Jose Sermo served up a hit and were each granted a free pass in five trips; Sermo also swatted a double. Jeremy Rivera, Jordan Betts, and Tate Matheny each mashed a double in five at-bats.


Greenville Drive (20-22/61-50)

Drive outhit the RiverDogs 7-5, but lose the contest 2-1

Darwinzon Hernandez surrendered two runs – one earned – on three hits – including a gopher ball to Isiah Gilliam – and two walks; striking out five in five innings. Algenis Martinez allowed two hits and whiffed three in three scoreless frames.

Santiago Espinal struck two singles and a double while being caught stealing in four at-bats. Jerry Downs drove a double, stole a base, and drew a walk in three jaunts before being pinch-hit for by Brett Netzer in the ninth; Netzer grounded out. Lorenzo Cedrola chipped a single in two trips before being replaced by Granger Studdard, who was hitless in two appearances. Tyler Hill and Roldani Baldwin each bopped a single in four excursions; Hill added a stolen base. Tucker Tubbs took a walk and swiped a bag in three treks. Ryan Scott took a base on balls amid three hitless sessions. Carlos Tovar was unsuccessful in three ups. Bobby Dalbec struck out twice in four fizzled forays.


Lowell Spinners (20-24)

Spinners out-duel the Cyclones 4-2

Tanner Houck ceded two runs – one earned – on four hits over three frames; striking out three. Denyi Reyes relinquished five singles over the final six scoreless innings; striking out nine.

Frankie Rios reached three times with a single, a triple, and a hit by pitch in five forays; he added a stolen base as well. Yoan Aybar yanked two singles in four at-bats. Yomar Valentin cracked two singles in five ventures. Nick Sciortino notched a single and a walk in four appearances. Zach Sterry and Juan Barriento each blooped a single and took a base on balls in five jaunts. Marino Campana collected a single in five matchups. Nicholos Hamilton was handed a free pass amid three hitless trips. Garrett Benge put five balls in play but to no avail.
