Pawtucket Red Sox (65-73)

Smith implodes in the eighth, PawSox downed 4-2

Justin Haley yielded one run on a Christian Lopez longball while scattering three other hits and two walks over seven innings; striking out four. Carson Smith surrendered three runs – two earned – on four hits and a walk in the eighth; tossing 44 pitches.

Jantzen Witte and Matt Dominguez each delivered three hits in four jaunts; Witte with two doubles, Dominguez stealing second. Dan Butler belted a single and a double in four at-bats. Brian Bogusevic singled, stole a base, and took a base on balls in four appearances. Bryce Brentz singled once in four ventures. Tzu-Wei Lin reached via a walk in four trips. Blake Swihart and Mike Miller had four miserable matchups. Deven Marrero suffered five frustrating forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (63-73)

Four home runs carry Portland over Hartford, 9-3

Dedgar Jimenez yielded one run on four hits and three walks over 5 ⅓ innings; whiffing a trio. Ty Buttrey allowed two unearned runs on a hit and a walk over 2 ⅓ frames; striking out three. Bobby Poyner gave up a hit and a walk while punching out one in the final 1 ⅓ innings.

Cole Sturgeon and Danny Bethea each belted two singles in four at-bats. Josh Tobias, Josh Ockimey, Danny Mars, and Jeremy Barfield each blasted two hits in five jaunts; Tobias and Ockimey with long balls, Barfield with two jacks. Michael Chavis chipped in with a double and a walk in five matchups. Mike Meyers muscled a double in  four trips. Chad De La Guerra drew a walk in five forays.

Salem Red Sox (32-34/72-63)

Salem strands 11 in 6-4 defeat

Matthew Kent was knocked for four runs on seven hits – including a Jomar Reyes roundtripper – and a walk over five frames; whiffing three. Harrison Cooney allowed two runs on two hits – including a Yermin Mercedes moonshot – two walks, and a hit by pitch in 1 ⅓ innings; striking out two and uncorking a wild pitch. Adam Lau whiffed a pair while retiring the final five batters in order.

Chris Madera muscled two singles and dropped a sacrifice bunt in four appearances. Jhon Nunez and Jordan Betts each notched two hits in four at-bats; Nunez with a homer, Betts with a caught stealing. Conrad Gregor connected on a double, was hit by a pitch, and drew a walk in five attempts. Victor Acosta walked twice and sliced a double in five ventures; he too was caught stealing. Tate Matheny muscled a double and was plunked by a pitch in five matchups. Jeremy Rivera ripped a single in four jaunts. Jose Sermo served up a double in five junkets. Justin Pacchioli walked once in five forays in his Red Sox debut.

Greenville Drive (37-29/78-57)

Drive roll over the Braves, 12-1

Hildemaro Requena tosses six scoreless innings; giving up two hits and striking out six. Hunter Smith surrendered a single and whiffed one in two frames. Joan Martinez yielded a run on three hits in the ninth; striking out one.

Bobby Dalbec delivered a single, a homer, a hit by pitch, and two walks in his perfect day at the plate; he was however caught stealing. Jerry Downs yanked two singles and a double in five jaunts. Tucker Tubbs, Ryan Scott, and Granger Studdard each swatted two hits in five trips; Tubbs with a double, Studdard and Scott each with a bomb. Carlos Tovar thumped a triple and took two walks in five treks. Isaias Lucena lined a double and a sacrifice fly while taking a free pass in five appearances. Jagger Rusconi roped a jack and was hit by a pitch in five junkets. Santiago Espinal singled and was hit by a pitch in six sessions.

Lowell Spinners (31-37)

Brooklyn plates two in the third, defeat Lowell 3-2 in game one

Angel Padron allowed three runs – two earned – on six hits and a walk in five frames; striking out five. Rio Gomez walked one and whiffed one in the sixth.

Raiwinson Lameda ripped two singles in three at-bats. Michael Osinski, Frankie Rios, Yoan Aybar, Nicholos Hamilton, and Charlie Madden each muscled a hit in three matchups; Osinski with a double, Rios with a caught stealing. Yoan Aybar walked once and was caught stealing in two ventures. Alexander Martinez and Garrett Benge had three awful attempts.

Oduber obliterated, Spinners lose game two 3-2 in eight

Durin O’Linger tossed six scoreless frames, giving up two hits and striking out eight. Ryan Oduber relinquished three runs on four hits – including a Walter Rasquin walk-off roundtripper in the eighth.

Tanner Nishioka notched a double and a triple in three at-bats. Nicholos Hamilton hit a homer and a sacrifice fly in three appearances. Frankie Rios reached base with a walk in four trips. Alexander Martinez, Nick Sciortino, Steven Reveles, Zach Sterry, and Yoan Aybar each had three stiff sessions. Michael Osinski suffered four frustrating forays.

GCL Red Sox (26-30)

Sox turn four double plays in 5-1 victory

Rayniel Adames relinquished a run on three hits and two walks over 3 ⅓ innings; whiffing one. Tanner Raiburn picked up the final two outs of the fourth, giving up a single. Jordan Weems yielded two singles in the fifth. Jose Gonzalez pitched the final four frames in scoreless fashion, giving up four hits and striking out a pair.

Ricardo Cubillan clubbed two singles and drew a walk in four appearances; he was also caught stealing. Tyler Esplin swatted a single and a double in five at-bats. Tyler Dearden drilled a double and walked twice in four trips. Kervin Suarez singled and walked in five sessions. Alberto Schmidt and Cole Brannen each blooped a single in four attempts. Everlouis Lozada lined a single in five excursions. Ramfis Berroa received a base on balls in four treks. Eddy Reynoso suffered four fizzled forays.
