Pawtucket Red Sox (65-74)

Red Wings jump on Johnson, defeat Pawtucket 6-4

Brian Johnson was battered for five runs on seven hits – including a ByungHo Park longball – and a walk over six innings; striking out four. Kyle Martin was knocked for a run on two hits and three walks over two frames; whiffing a pair and uncorking two wild pitches.

Jake Romanski ripped two singles in four jaunts. Brian Bogusevic and Matt Dominguez each drove a single and a homer in five at-bats. Tzu-Wei Lin laced a single, drew two walks, and stole a base in five trips. Bryce Brentz and Tim Roberson each blooped a single in four treks. Jantzen Witte walked once in four junkets. Ryan Court and Deven Marrero each struck out three times in their four forlorned forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (64-73)

Ball and Barfield bedevil the Fisher Cats, Sea Dogs win 7-2

Trey Ball surrendered two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings; whiffing one. Jacob Dahlstrand delivered two scoreless innings; giving up a hit and striking out one. Trevor Kelley gave up a single in an otherwise clean ninth.

Henry Urrutia singled three times in four ups. Jeremy Barfield blasted a double and his 27th bomb in four jaunts. Josh Tobias singled and dropped a sacrifice bunt in four trips. Cole Sturgeon stung a single and was stung by a pitch in four sessions. Deiner Lopez, Jordan Procyshen, Josh Ockimey, and Danny Mars each had a hit in four at-bats; Procyshen with a double. Michael Chavis was unable to get a hit in four frustrating forays; but did reach on an error and steal a base.

Salem Red Sox (32-34/72-63)

Red Sox and Dash can’t play on Friday due to rain. They will attempt to play two on Sunday.

Greenville Drive (37-30/78-58)

Tourists hit Hernandez, Drive defeated 4-2

Darwinzon Hernandez yielded four runs on eight hits, a hit by pitch, a balk, and a wild pitch in four frames; striking out three. Robby Sexton relinquished a double and whiffed three in two scoreless innings. Jared Oliver allowed a single and a walk in his two scoreless frames; whiffing one.

Jerry Downs delivered two singles and a double in four jaunts. Carlos Tovar thumped a single and a double in five at-bats. Brett Netzer, Granger Studdard, and Mitch Gunsolus each garnered a hit in four matchups; Gunsolus with a double, Netzer with a stolen base. Bobby Dalbec, Jagger Rusconi, Tucker Tubbs, and Isaias Lucena each had four failed forays.

Lowell Spinners (31-38)

Spinners leave seven on the bags, lose 2-1

Nick Duron was dinged for two runs on seven hits over five frames; whiffing three. Mitchell Osnowitz allowed a hit and two walks over three innings, striking out four.

Tanner Nishioka notched two singles, a double, and a stolen base in four trips. Yomar Valentin yanked a single, drew a walk, and was picked off first before being officially caught stealing second in three ventures. Samuel Miranda, Raiwinson Lameda, Garrett Benge, and Nicholos Hamilton each hit a single in four at-bats; Lameda was caught stealing. Yoan Aybar earned a free pass and stole a base amid three hitless appearances. Steven Reveles and Marino Campana contributed four fizzled forays.

GCL Red Sox (27-31)

Four walks and a wild pitch see the Sox walk-off with a 5-4 win in game one

Fernando Rodriguez pitched two scoreless innings, giving up a hit and hitting a batter while whiffing one. Andrew Carber allowed a run on three walks in his one inning and one batter; striking out one. Victor Garcia pitched the final four frames, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks – one intentional – while whiffing seven.

Ramfis Berroa blooped two singles in three tries before being replaced by Juan Hernandez who drew a walk in his only jaunt. Pedro Castellanos contributed a double, a walk, and a hit by pitch in four appearances. Ricardo Cubillan clocked a single and earned a free pass in four ventures. Eddy Reynoso roped a double in three at-bats. Tyler Dearden walked twice in three tries after replacing Tyler Esplin who flied out in his only excursion. Juan Carlos Abreu took two bases on balls in three junkets. Everlouis Lozada drew a walk amid three hitless attempts. David Durden struck out once in three ups. Kervin Suarez suffered four fruitless forays.

Batista battered in game two, Sox downed 9-1

Edilson Batista yielded nine runs – five earned – on eight hits and three walks over just 2 ⅔ innings; whiffing one. Hunter Haworth struck out six in his nearly perfect 3 ⅓ innings – allowing one runner to reach via error.

Ricardo Cubillan ripped a single in three at-bats; the Red Sox sole hit of the game. Eddy Reynoso walked twice in three excursions. Cole Brannen, Tyler Dearden, and Eduard Conde each took a free pass in three trips. Kervin Suarez earned a base on balls amid three hitless sessions. Everlouis Lozada, Juan Hernandez, and Chad Hardy each had a trio of junky jaunts; Hernandez striking out three times.
