Pawtucket Red Sox (66-74)
Hector Velazquez struck out one in a 1-2-3 first. Marcus Walden wobbled through three innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Edgar Olmos went 3 ⅔ scoreless frames, surrendering two hits, two walks, and a hit by pitch while whiffing four. Ben Taylor retired the final four Red Wings in order; striking out a pair.
Jeremy Barfield blasted three singles and his first AAA homer of the year over five jaunts in his PawSox debut. Mike Miller muscled two singles and earned a walk in four matchups. Heiker Meneses singled twice in four at-bats. Jantzen Witte whipped a single, stole a base, and drew a base on balls in four junkets. Bryce Brentz belted a double and took a free pass in five appearances. Dan Butler doubled once in four trips. Brian Bogusevic singled and stole a base in five forays. Matt Dominguez delivered a sacrifice fly and a walk in five ventures; he was picked off first before being caught stealing second. Ryan Court received a free pass amid three hitless sessions.
Portland Sea Dogs (65-73)
Henry Owens allowed four runs – one earned – on four hits, four walks, and a hit by pitch over 6 ⅔ innings; striking out six. Jake Cosart gave up a hit, a hit by pitch, and a walk in 1 ⅓ scoreless frames; whiffing a pair. Josh Smith surrendered two hits and two walks over 1 ⅓ scoreless innings; striking out two. Elih Villanueva came out of the bullpen with the bases loaded and induced two infield groundouts – the first forcing a runner at home – to get out of the tenth unscathed.
Danny Mars and Cole Sturgeon each struck two singles in five sessions; Mars adding a walk and a stolen base, Sturgeon dropping a sacrifice bunt and swiping two bags. Danny Bethea blasted a solo bomb and took a base on balls in four appearances. Mike Olt was hit by a pitch in his first four trips before ending the game with a single to center. Josh Ockimey obtained a single and a walk in five jaunts. Deiner Lopez lined a single in four at-bats. Josh Tobias was plunked by a pitch in his four junkets. Mike Meyers went hitless in four messy matchups. Michael Chavis struck out three times in five fruitless forays.
Salem Red Sox (33-34/73-63)
Tyler Spoon served up two singles, a hit by pitch, and a stolen base in four trips. Jordan Betts blasted a single and a double in four jaunts. Conrad Gregor golfed a single and a homer in five at-bats. Austin Rei ripped a double and was plunked by a pitch in four appearances. Tate Matheny muscled a single and drew a walk in four matchups. Nick Lovullo notched two walks in four ventures. Justin Pacchioli was hit by a pitch, took a free pass, and stole a base in five junkets. Jose Sermo was given a base on balls in four sessions. Jeremy Rivera had four futile forays.
Greenville Drive (37-31/78-59)
Enmanuel De Jesus was jumped on for six runs on seven hits and three hit by pitches over five frames and three batters; striking out a trio. Lukas Young yielded two runs – one earned – on three hits over two innings; whiffing a quartet. Algenis Martinez allowed two runs on three hits in the eighth; striking out one.
Santiago Espinal smoked two singles and a sacrifice fly in four excursions. Jagger Rusconi ripped a pair of singles in three jaunts. Jerry Downs delivered a single and a hit by pitch in four junkets. Tucker Tubbs and Roldani Baldwin each belted a hit in four trips; Baldwin with a double. Mitch Gunsolus struck out in each of his three at-bats. Brett Netzer, Bobby Dalbec, and Ryan Scott suffered four frustrating forays.
Lowell Spinners (31-39)
Yorvin Pantoja yielded two singles, two doubles, and three walks over three scoreless frames; whiffing one. Taylor Ahearn allowed a run on three hits in the fourth.
Alexander Martinez and Garrett Benge both blooped a single in two matchups. Steven Reveles grounded out in his only attempt. Frankie Rios, Yoan Aybar, Marino Campana, Zach Sterry, Tanner Nishioka and Nick Sciortino each notched two hitless at-bats.
GCL Red Sox (27-31)
The final two games of the season were canceled due to rain. The Red Sox will miss the GCL playoffs for the first time since 2011, which was also the last time they finished below .500.
