Today’s Minor League Scores

Yesterday’s Scoreboard

Pawtucket Red Sox (7-7)

Taylor gives up a three-run bomb in a four-run seventh, PawSox go down to defeat 6-4

Henry Owens struck out eight, but threw 107 pitches in his 4 ⅔ inning start, giving up a pair of runs on four hits – including a Yoan Moncada moonshot – and a quartet of free passes. Erik Cordier went two innings, relinquishing two runs on a hit and two walks; whiffing three. Ben Taylor’s AAA debut was not special, giving up a walk to the first man he faced before Danny Hayes took a pitch out of the park, giving the Knights the lead. Taylor would settle down to set down the final four men he faced, one via K.

Bryce Brentz picked up two of the PawSox five hits, including his first bomb of the season in the ninth, in four forays. Ryan Court singled once and earned a free pass in four plate appearances. Jantzen Witte has a single in his two at-bats after replacing Josh Rutledge, who went 0-for-2 in his third rehab game. Junior Lake extended his hit streak to five games with a single in four attempts. Dan Butler procured a walk and had three hitless at-bats. Deven Marrero continues his struggles, going 0-for-3. Allen Craig, Matt Dominguez, and Rusney Castillo each had four frustrating forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (7-4)

The weather system in the Northeast postponed the finale of the Dog and Pony show. The games will be made up in June.

Salem Red Sox (9-5)

The same weather system extended its reach to Maryland, postponing the opening game of the Salem series at Frederick. They will attempt to play two today.

Greenville Drive (9-6)

Sexton hits a wall in the fifth, Drive go down 6-1

Robby Sexton allowed single runners in the first four frames before giving up four singles in the fifth, leading to three runs. Sexton was lifted after 5 ⅔ innings, relinquishing four runs on a double, a hit batsman, a walk, and eight singles; striking out five. Hunter Smith pitched the next 2 ⅓ innings, allowing three hits and two runs – on an Anthony Concepcion homer – while whiffing a quartet of Braves. Pat Goetze struck out two of the men he faced in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Ryan Scott and Yoan Aybar each procured a single and a walk in four plate appearances. Lorenzo Cedrola singled and struck out twice in his three at-bats. Roldani Baldwin and Isaias Lucena each blasted a hit in four forays; Baldwin with a double. Tucker Tubbs was granted a free pass and had three hitless at-bats.  Nick Lovullo, Bobby Dalbec, and Santiago Espinal were each frustrated in their four appearances.
