Eduardo Rodriguez relinquished a run on six hits and a hit by pitch in 6 ⅓ innings; striking out seven. Brandon Workman struck out both men he saw to finish up the seventh. Marcus Walden gave up only a double in his four frames; whiffing a quartet.
Ryan Court and Jantzen Witte led the Sox with three hits in five at-bats; Court leading off the 11th with a double, Witte later singling him in for the win. Aneury Tavarez thumped a pair of hits – a single and a triple – and drew a walk in five appearances. Rusney Castillo clipped two singles in five trips. Brock Holt hit a single in four attempts before being replaced by Matt Dominguez who was unable to reach in his one attack. Dan Butler beat out a single in four excursions. Bryce Brentz bopped a single in five forays. Pablo Sandoval and Mike Miller were each hitless in four official at-bats; Panda drawing a walk, Miller dropping a sacrifice bunt.
Portland Sea Dogs (41-44)
Henry Owens survived a three-walk first, giving up two hits, a hit by pitch, and one walk over his next four frames; striking out five over his five complete. Jake Drehoff yielded an unearned run on a hit in 1 ⅓ innings; whiffing a pair. Trevor Kelley gave up two quick singles in the seventh and was relieved by Williams Jerez; who allowed a run on a hit and a wild pitch in 1 ⅔ innings. Bobby Poyner pitched the ninth, allowing a single.
Jeremy Barfield belted a single and a double in four at-bats. Josh Tobias topped a single and drew two walks in four appearances. Danny Mars managed a single and a walk in four excursions; he was also caught stealing. Chad De La Guerra and Michael Chavis chipped in with a hit in four attempts; Chavis clubbing his fourth moonshot, De La Guerra adding a stolen base. Nick Lovullo laced a single and a triple in three trips. Tate Matheny managed a double, a walk, and a stolen base in four appearances. Jeremy Rivera, Jordan Betts, Chris Madera, and Victor Acosta each ripped a hit in four at-bats; Rivera roping a double. Bryan Hudson struck out each of the three times he strode to the plate. Kyle Hart allowed a single and struck out two in four innings. Matthew Gorst gave up a Marten Gasparini moonshot and whiffed a pair in the ninth.
Mitch Gunsolus and Roldani Baldwin belted a pair of hits in four at-bats; Baldwin blasting his tenth round tripper. Lorenzo Cedrola contributed a single, a double, and a caught stealing in five excursions. Tucker Tubbs took a walk, was thumped by a pitch, and topped a single in four appearances. Granger Studdard swatted a single and earned a free pass in four trips. Steven Reveles and Isaias Lucena each ripped a hit in four attacks; Lucena lacing a double. Brett Netzer and Nick Sciortino each scorched two hits in three official at-bats; Netzer knocking a sacrifice fly, Sciortino drawing a walk in addition to his single and double.
