Pawtucket Red Sox (30-28)

Walden, Martin, and Maddox hold the Bisons to three hits, PawSox defeat Buffalo 3-2

Marcus Walden went the first six innings, yielding a run on two hits and a hit by pitch while whiffing a trio. Kyle Martin allowed a Raffy Lopez long ball and whiffed two in his two frames. Austin Maddox struck out one in his perfect ninth inning appearance.

Steve Selsky slammed his ninth homer and walked twice in four appearances. Bryce Brentz blasted his tenth bomb and walked once in four forays. Rusney Castillo contributed two singles in four at-bats; he was caught stealing once. Mike Miller managed a single and a walk in three trips. Heiker Meneses singled and was caught stealing in his three attempts. Jantzen Witte and Brian Bogusevic each singled once in four tries. Dan Butler failed to reach in his three at-bats. Sam Travis struck out all three times he came to the plate; he was pinch hit for by Matt Dominguez in the eighth, who also struck out.

Portland Sea Dogs (28-30)

Portland scores four times in the eighth, defeat Erie 10-7

Taylor Grover surrendered two runs on five hits over his three innings; striking out a quintet. Jake Drehoff relinquished four runs on five hits – including a Grayson Greiner gopher ball – and a walk in his three frames; whiffing a trio. Luis Ysla yielded a run on two hits and a walk over his two innings while striking out a pair. Bobby Poyner picked up his first Portland save with a 1-2-3 ninth; striking out one.

Danny Mars delivered three singles and a double in his five at-bats; he was caught stealing once. Mike Olt managed two hits – including a fourth-inning moonshot – and a walk in his four appearances. Nick Longhi laced a pair of doubles and was hit by a pitch in five trips. Jake DePew drove a ball out of the park in the eighth and had a single in four attempts. Jeremy Barfield and Cole Sturgeon stung a hit in four forays; Barfield with a double. Tzu-Wei Lin lined a single in four tries after replacing Joseph Monge, who left the game in the third inning; Monge struck out in his only at-bat. Deiner Lopez drew a walk amid three hitless attempts. Josh Tobias was hit by a pitch and had four hitless trips.

Salem Red Sox (39-24)

Salem delivers 14 hits in an 11-1 stomping of the Dash

Dedgar Jimenez picked up his eighth win of the season with a six-inning effort, allowing a run on two hits and two walks while striking out four. Marc Brakeman gave up a hit and whiffed a quartet in his two frames. Trevor Kelley struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Chad De La Guerra was a triple shy of the cycle, garnering three hits in six sessions. Jeremy Rivera roped two doubles and two sacrifice flies in his five forays. Tate Matheny managed a single, a double, and a walk in six appearances. Josh Ockimey and Mike Meyers had a pair of hits in five at-bats; Ockimey with a double. Michael Chavis and Jose Sermo chipped in with a hit and a walk in five attempts; Sermo with a double, Chavis with his 16th homer of the season. Jhon Nunez knocked a single and a sacrifice fly while earning a free pass in five tries; he also stole two bases. Granger Studdard drew a walk and was hit by a pitch amid three hitless at-bats in his 2017 debut.

Greenville Drive (37-25)

Nogosek yields walk-off winner, Drive downed 2-1

Bryan Mata granted a run on four hits and a balk in his six-inning start; whiffing four. Matthew Gorst struck out a pair in his two perfect frames. Steven Nogosek surrendered a homer to the first batter he faced, Cristian Paulino, which ended the contest.

Chris Madera singled twice in four at-bats; he was also picked off then caught stealing. Tucker Tubbs thumped a single in three attempts. Ryan Scott and Tyler Hill each hit a single in four appearances. Santiago Espinal walked once and had three hitless trips. Steven Reveles, Mitch Gunsolus, and Roldani Baldwin were unable to reach in three tries. Lorenzo Cedrola suffered four frustrating forays.
