Pawtucket Red Sox (45-44)

Johnson and the pen keep the Chiefs off the board, PawSox win 5-0

Brian Johnson gave up two singles and a double in seven innings, walking two and striking out two. Austin Maddox and Brandon Workman followed with 1-2-3 innings, each with a K.

Dan Butler blooped three singles in four at-bats. Brian Bogusevic bopped two singles and a sacrifice fly in four tries. Aneury Tavarez tapped two singles in five attacks. Ryan Court contributed a single and two walks in five appearances. Steve Selsky, Matt Dominguez, Heiker Meneses, and Jantzen Witte each had a hit in four trips; Meneses mashing a double. Mike Miller had four futile forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (42-44)

Mars and Sturgeon sting moonshots, Portland pulls by New Hampshire 5-1

Kevin McAvoy yielded an unearned run on six hits and a walk over seven frames; whiffing a trio and unleashing a wild pitch. Trevor Kelley and Bobby Poyner followed with 1-2-3 innings, each striking out one.

Jake Romanski ripped two singles in four at-bats. Chad De La Guerra golfed a pair of singles in five trips. Mike Olt obtained a single and a walk in four appearances. Cole Sturgeon and Jeremy Barfield each belted a hit in four attacks; Barfield blasting a double, Sturgeon swatting his first homer of the season in the sixth. Danny Mars delivered a two-run roundtripper in the third, his only hit in five attempts. Michael Chavis contributed a walk in four excursions. Josh Tobias and Henry Urrutia each struck out twice in four frustrating forays.

Salem Red Sox (13-8/53-37)

Ockimey and Betts blasts lead Salem to a 4-0 victory over Potomac

Roniel Raudes relinquished four singles, two walks, and a hit by pitch over five frames; striking out a trio and throwing a pitch to the backstop. Logan Boyd gave up a single and a walk in 2 ⅔ innings; whiffing a pair. Austin Glorius gave up a single in the eighth before striking out Edwin Lora to end the inning. Glorius came back for the ninth, but left without an out after a walk and a single. Stephen Nogosek was able to get out of the situation, allowing a walk in between striking out two and inducing a 6-5 forceout.

Nick Lovullo laced two singles in three at-bats. Josh Ockimey obtained two walks and jacked a solo bomb in the first in his four attacks. Tate Matheny managed a double and a base on balls in three tries. Jordan Betts belted an eighth-inning bomb, his only hit in three trips. Jeremy Rivera ripped a single in four attempts. Chris Madera dropped a sacrifice bunt, drew a walk, and stole a base in four appearances. Jhon Nunez whiffed twice in his three ups. Tyler Spoon and Tate Matheny each suffered four forlorn forays.

Greenville Drive (9-11/50-39)

Baldwin singles in Hill in the bottom of the ninth, Greenville drives off with a 2-1 victory

Kyle Hart allowed three hits and two walks in seven scoreless frames, striking out five. Pat Goetze gave up a run on two hits and an intentional walk in two innings; whiffing a trio.

Roldani Baldwin and Tyler Hill each had two hits in four at-bats; Hill scoring both runs after a fourth-inning homer and his ninth-inning triple. Mitch Gunsolus was gifted a walk and had a single in three tries. Lorenzo Cedrola contributed a single in four attempts. Tucker Tubbs took a base on balls in three appearances. Carlos Tovar, Granger Studdard, and Bobby Dalbec were unable to reach in three trips. Santiago Espinal suffered four fruitless forays.

Lowell Spinners (10-11)

As the Spinners and MuckDogs can’t play in the rain, the game was canceled and will not be made up as Lowell and Batavia do not meet again this season.

GCL Red Sox (8-8)

Sox leave nine on base, lose to the Rays 5-0

Juan Perez allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk in four frames; striking out five, throwing a wild pitch, and committing a balk. Marcos Lantigua let in three runs – one earned – in two innings; giving up two hits and three walks while whiffing one. Tanner Raiburn relinquished a single and uncorked a pitch to the backstop in his two frames.

Ramfis Berroa blasted a double and two singles while stealing a base in four at-bats. C.J. Chatham singled twice in three trips before giving way to Ricardo Cubillan, who singled in the eighth. Trey Ganns garnered two singles in four excursions. Kervin Suarez swatted a single in four tries. Cole Brannen took two bases on balls amid two hitless attempts. Everlouis Lozada walked to first once in four appearances. Beau Hanna was hitless in three at-bats before being replaced by Carlos Pulido, who grounded out to end the game in the ninth. Pedro Castellanos and Tyler Esplin suffered four futile forays.

DSL Red Sox (24-11)

Sox pound out 16 hits in an 11-3 demolition of the Dodgers

Rafael Gomez gave up three runs on four hits and a walk in four frames, striking out a trio. Luis Colmenares let two Dodgers reach – on a single and a walk – in four innings; whiffing a quartet. Isaac Pinales whiffed a pair in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Willis Figueroa had a perfect day – with four singles, a stolen base, and a walk – before being pinch hit for by Jose Mejias, who grounded out in the eighth. Ivan Houellemont hit a double and two singles while drawing a walk in five appearances. Rafael Rincones ripped two doubles and a single in five at-bats. Keibert Petit punched a double and a homer while drawing a pair of free passes in five attacks before being replaced by Ivan Jimenez, who struck out in the ninth.

Alexander Martinez managed a single and a hit by pitch in five excursions before being replaced by Fabian Andrade who flied out in the ninth. Luis Hernandez and Angel Gonzalez each got on base with a hit and a hit by pitch in five attempts; Hernandez lacing a double. Eduard Conde contributed a double in five ups. Freiberg Marin suffered five failed forays before giving way to Ronaldo Pulgar, who flew out in his ninth inning trip.
