Pawtucket Red Sox (47-44)

Devers debut dazzling as PawSox win 7-4

Jalen Beeks surrendered one run on five hits and a walk over six innings; striking out a sextet and unleashing a pitch to the backstop. Jamie Callahan yielded two runs – one earned – on a hit and a walk over two frames; whiffing a quartet. Noe Ramirez relinquished a run on two hits in the ninth; striking out a pair.

Rafael Devers ripped two singles, a double, and demolished a Neal Cotts pitch for a two-run homer in the eighth in his four flawless at-bats. Matt Dominguez and Heiker Meneses delivered a pair of singles each in four trips. Aneury Tavarez tapped two singles in five chances. Bryce Brentz bopped a single and took a base on balls in five appearances. Dan Butler belted a double in four trips. Rusney Castillo and Ryan Court each contributed a hit in five ups; Court with a double, Castillo adding a stolen base. Brock Holt had five foiled forays, striking out twice.

Portland Sea Dogs (43-46)

Sea Dogs score two in the fourth, defeat the Fisher Cats 2-1 in game one

Elih Villanueva allowed two hits and three walks over six scoreless frames; striking out four. Williams Jerez gave up one run on two hits in the seventh; whiffing one.

Jeremy Barfield drove in Danny Mars and Josh Tobias with a single in the fourth; he also delivered another single in his three trips. Michael Chavis, Henry Urrutia, and Deiner Lopez each laced a single in three at-bats; Lopez adding a stolen base. Danny Mars mashed a double in four tries. Josh Tobias reached on a throwing error on his sacrifice bunt in the fourth and went hitless his other two appearances. Jordan Procyschen procured a walk in three tries. Mike Olt and Cole Sturgeon had a trio of futile forays; Olt whiffing all three times.

Sea Dogs give up three unanswered, lose game two 3-2

Taylor Grover gave up three runs on six hits – including a gopher ball to Gunnar Heidt – two walks, and a hit by pitch; whiffing a quartet in 3 ⅓ innings. Ty Buttrey gave up a hit and a walk in 2 ⅔ innings of relief; striking out three.

Henry Urrutia hit two singles in three at-bats. Cole Sturgeon stung a pair of doubles in four trips. Nick Lovullo laced a single and walked twice in his AA debut. Jeremy Barfield bopped a single and took a base on balls in four tries. Danny Mars managed a single in four attempts. Josh Tobias topped a single in two tries after replacing Mike Olt, who was hit by a pitch. Deiner Lopez was also plunked once in his three ups. Jake Romanski was unable to reach base in three trips. Michael Chavis suffered four failed forays.

Salem Red Sox (14-9/54-38)

Salem does no damage until the bottom of the ninth, loses 3-2

Matthew Kent surrendered two runs on six hits and a walk in six frames; whiffing a quintet. Jordan Weems gave up a hit and hit a batter in two innings; striking out a trio. Adam Lau allowed a run on two hits in the ninth; striking out one.

Jordan Betts belted a double and took a base on balls in four appearances. Victor Acosta singled once in three at-bats. Jeremy Rivera and Tyler Spoon swatted a hit in four trips, with Spoon smacking a two-run tater in the ninth. Josh Ockimey and Austin Rei each reached on a walk in four attempts. Bryan Hudson went hitless in three tries. Chris Madera and Jose Sermo had a quartet of frustrating forays.

Greenville Drive (11-11/52-39)

Dalbec grand slam in the seventh gives Greenville the lead, Driving past the Crawdads 7-4

Darwinzon Hernandez tossed five scoreless frames, scattering three hits while whiffing five and tossing a wild pitch. Daniel Gonzalez coughed up three runs on three hits, three walks, and three wild pitches; striking out one in 1 ⅔ innings. Matthew Gorst yielded a run on two hits, two walks, and two pitches out of reach of the catcher; whiffing a trio in 2 ⅓ innings.

Tyler Hill and Steven Reveles each ripped two hits in four at-bats; Reveles rocketing a double and also stealing a base. Granger Studdard slapped a single and was plunked in four appearances. Bobby Dalbec dropped down a successful sacrifice bunt and then blasted a seventh-inning grand slam in his four trips. Lorenzo Cedrola contributed a single and a hit by pitch in five forays. Roldani Baldwin and Tucker Tubbs each contributed a single in four tries. Santiago Espinal slapped a single and had four hitless tries. Mitch Gunsolus failed to put a ball in play: walking twice, striking out once, and getting hit by a pitch in his four trips.

Lowell Spinners (10-13)

Lowell can’t score after sixth, lose 4-3 in 12

Enmanuel De Jesus yielded two runs on six hits, a walk, and a hit by pitch in 4 ⅔ innings; whiffing a pair. Jared Oliver allowed a run on a Jake Scheiner jack; Oliver also plunked two batters and struck out one in his 2 ⅓ frames. Joan Martinez gave up a hit and an intentional walk in three innings of work. Mitchell Osnowitz allowed a run on three hits and two walks in 1 ⅔ innings; striking out one.

Garrett Benge and Marino Campana contributed two hits in five at-bats; Benge belting a double. Nicholos Hamilton, Frankie Rios, and Brett Netzer each notched a hit in six sessions; Hamilton with a double and a hit by pitch, Netzer with a double and a walk, and Rios also adding a walk. Jordan Wren walked in the 11th, pinch hitting for Nick Sciortino who was unable to reach in four attempts. Raiwinson Lameda drew a walk in five tries. Juan Barriento and Yomar Valentin each had a quintet of forlorned forays.

GCL Red Sox (10-8)

Red Sox score in four successive innings, defeat the Twins 6-1

Alejandro Rodriguez scattered seven hits over four scoreless frames; striking out four and uncorking a pair of wild pitches. Taylor Ahearn allowed a run on three hits over three innings; whiffing a quintet while throwing a pitch to the backstop. Kory Behenna relinquished a pair of hits and struck out two in the eighth. Francisco Lopez-Soto also gave up two hits in the ninth while whiffing one.

Juan Carlos Abreu had a boxscore-filling day, accumulating a single, a double, a steal of home, and a walk in four trips. Alan Marrero managed a single and a double in four at-bats. Everlouis Lozada laced two singles and stole a base in four trips. Kervin Suarez singled in the eighth as a pinch hitter for Xavier LeGrant, who walked once in his three tries. Trey Ganns garnered a single in two attacks after replacing Jerry Downs, who was put out in both of his appearances. Cole Brannen bopped a single in five ups. C.J. Chatham walked once in four forays. David Durden struck out thrice and was hit by a pitch in his professional debut. Pedro Castellanos was unable to reach in his one at-bat after replacing Zach Sterry, who debuted with a 0-for-3 day.
