Pawtucket Red Sox (42-44)

PawSox can’t solve Bison’s pitching, lose 5-0

Kyle Kendrick surrendered four runs on ten hits and two walks over five innings; striking out six. Kyle Martin allowed a run on three hits and two walks over two frames, whiffing a pair. Ty Buttrey pitched the final two innings, giving up three hits and two walks; striking out one.

Heiker Meneses managed two singles in four at-bats. Bryce Brentz, Dan Butler and Mike Miller each bopped a single and drew a walk in four appearances. Rusney Castillo was bonked by a pitch amid three hitless trips. Aneury Tavarez, Steve Selsky, Pablo Sandoval, and Jhonny Peralta each had a quartet of frustrating forays.


Portland Sea Dogs (40-43)

Trey Ball yielded a run on three hits over his seven innings, striking out seven.

Chad De La Guerra crushed a pair of doubles and a single in four at-bats. Rafael Devers delivered two singles and a walk in four trips. Michael Chavis chipped in with a single, a double, and a sacrifice fly in four tries. Brock Holt hit a single and walked twice in four appearances. Mike Olt obtained a double and a walk in four forays. Henry Urrutia, Jake Romanski and Cole Sturgeon each stung a hit in four forays; Urrutia with a double. Jeremy Barfield went hitless but did draw a base on balls in four appearances.

Six runs in the third put the Dogs ahead for good, Portland sweeps with a 9-6 victory in game two

Taylor Grover gave up three runs on six hits and two walks over three frames; whiffing a trio. Josh Smith tossed three scoreless innings, surrendering two hits and striking out three. Bobby Poyner survived a rough seventh, yielding three unearned runs on a single and a Kyle Martin moonshot; whiffing a pair.

Mike Olt obtained a single and a grand slam in three at-bats. Danny Mars mashed two doubles in four trips. Jeremy Barfield belted a single and was bonked by a pitch in four appearances. Deiner Lopez laced a single in three tries. Henry Urrutia and Michael Chavis each chipped in a single in four attacks. Josh Tobias took two free passes in three tries. Jordan Procyshen was hit by a pitch amid two hitless attacks. Rafael Devers drew a walk in three trips before being replaced by Cole Sturgeon who struck out in the sixth.


Salem Red Sox (10-6/50-35)

Salem can’t come back from four run deficit, lose to the Hillcats 5-4

Roniel Raudes relinquished five runs – two earned – on six hits and two walks over 5 ⅔ frames; striking out seven. Austin Glorius gave up a hit and two walks in 2 ⅓ innings; whiffing a quartet.

Tate Matheny thumped a single and a triple in four at-bats. Nick Lovullo laced a single in three tries. Chris Madera, Jeremy Rivera, Josh Ockimey, Tyler Spoon, Jordan Betts, and Victor Acosta each had a hit in four trips; Ockimey, Betts, and Spoon serving up doubles. Austin Rei ripped a sacrifice fly amid three hitless attacks.


Greenville Drive (4-12/45-39)

Drive give up four in the sixth, go down to the Legends 5-2 in a game ended by rain in the eighth

Daniel Gonzalez gave up three runs on five hits – including long balls from Khalil Lee and Emmanuel Rivera – and three walks over 5 ⅔ innings; whiffing an octet while uncorking a wild pitch. Hildemaro Requena relinquished two runs on four hits and a walk in 1 ⅓ frames; striking out one.

Tucker Tubbs thumped the only Drive hit, a two-run tater in the fourth. Tyler Hill was hit by a pitch in three trips. Lorenzo Cedrola contributed a walk in four tries. Steven Reveles, Ryan Scott, Roldani Baldwin, Mitch Gunsolus, Eddy Reynoso, and Carlos Tovar each had a trio of failed forays.


Lowell Spinners (7-10)

Spinners score eight in the third, crush the Tigers 11-4

Yorvin Pantoja walked two and struck out one in four scoreless innings. Ryan Oduber relinquished three runs on four hits and a walk in the fifth; striking out two. Denyi Reyes yielded a run on two hits over three frames; whiffing a pair. Lukas Young pitched a perfect ninth, striking out one.

Brett Netzer knocked two singles and drew two walks in five appearances. Joseph Monge mashed a triple and a single in two at-bats before being replaced by Samuel Miranda who had two hitless attacks. Yoan Aybar accumulated a single and a double in four trips. Juan Barriento and Raiwinson Lameda laced two hits in five excursions; Lameda lacing a double. Charlie Madden and Michael Osinski each obtained a single and a walk in four appearances. Yomar Valentin and Garrett Benge bopped a single in five forays.


GCL Red Sox (7-4)

Castellanos and Colon lead 14-hit attack, Sox double up the Twins 10-5

Oddanier Mosqueda surrendered three runs – two earned – on four hits and three walks over four frames; striking out five. Francisco Lopez-Soto allowed two runs on five walks and a hit; whiffing one in 2 ⅓ innings. Taylor Ahearn tossed the final 2 ⅔ innings in scoreless fashion, yielding two hits and striking out two.

Pedro Castellanos clubbed four singles and a sacrifice fly in six sessions. Andre Colon clipped three singles in five at-bats. Bobby Dalbec delivered a pair of singles and drew a pair of walks in six trips. Jecorrah Arnold lifted a single and a sacrifice fly while being plunked twice in five appearances. Juan Carlos Abreu accumulated a single, a walk, and a stolen base in four attacks before being lifted for Juan Hernandez who failed to reach in his only at-bat. Kervin Suarez smoked a home run and walked twice in six ups. Marino Campana and Alan Marrero each managed a hit in five tries; Campana with a double. Cole Brannen reached base four times without benefit of a hit in six sessions; walking thrice and being hit once.


DSL Red Sox (19-11)

Sox win the suspended game with only two hits, 3-2 in 11 innings

Luis Colmenares started the game on June 21, yielding a run on a hit and four walks over three innings; striking out three and uncorking a wild pitch. Rafael Gomez followed with four scoreless frames, giving up three hits and whiffing a quintet. Andres Jimenez went 1 ⅓ innings, allowing a hit and a walk before the game was suspended. Shair Lacrus restarted the action today, going the final 2 ⅔ frames, surrendering an unearned run on a hit while whiffing one.

Rafael Rincones ripped a single in four at-bats. Alexander Martinez managed a single in five trips. Keibert Petit and Luis Hernandez each drew a walk in four appearances. Marcos Martinez dropped a sacrifice fly and had three hitless attempts. Freiberg Marin was given an intentional free pass after four hitless attacks. Fabian Andrade and Willis Figueroa went hitless in four at-bats. Reinaldo Ugueto was unable to reach in five forays.

Sox scored one in the seventh on a walk, a single, and a ground out. Sox scored solo runs in the 10th and 11th thanks to the new extra-inning rules. In the 10th, a sacrifice bunt moved the runner from second to third. The runner was able to score on a ground out. In the 11th, the runner on second scored on a throwing error as the Royals attempted an inning-ending double play.

Three unearned runs put the Sox in a hole, go home in defeat 4-3 in the regularly scheduled contest

Rafael Gomez relinquished two runs – one earned – on four hits and a walk over five innings; whiffing seven. Geraldo Perez gave up two unearned runs in two frames, yielding a hit and a walk while striking out one and uncorking a wild pitch.

Willis Figueroa walloped a triple and a single in four at-bats. Keibert Petit procured a double and a walk in three trips. Rafael Rincones ripped a single and was hit by a pitch in three appearances. Marcos Martinez managed a single in three attempts. Reinaldo Ugueto dropped a sacrifice bunt amid two hitless attacks. Freiberg Marin lifted a sacrifice fly in four tries. Ronaldo Pulgar took a free pass and had two hitless at-bats. Luis Hernandez and Alexander Martinez had a trio of fruitless forays.
