Pawtucket Red Sox (32-28)

Offense comes alive late, PawSox win game one 7-1

Henry Owens relinquished only one run despite giving up four hits and eight walks in just 4 ⅔ innings; striking out two and uncorking a pair of wild pitches. After a 45-minute rain delay, Noe Ramirez came out to complete the fifth inning and the game, granting two base on balls in 2 ⅓ frames.

Bryce Brentz led the offense with two singles and a walk in four trips, scoring twice. Blake Swihart swatted a single and a double in four at-bats. Ryan Court reached with a double, a walk, and a hit by pitch in four forays. Allen Craig and Steve Selsky each singled and received a free pass in four appearances. Matt Dominguez lifted a single and a sac fly in four attempts. Rusney Castillo roped a single in five trips. Mike Miller drew a walk and dropped a sacrifice bunt amid two hitless at-bats. Sam Travis was granted a free pass in four forays.

PawSox belt ten hits, sweep Syracuse 6-3

Edgar Olmos surrendered a run on a single and two walks in his four-inning start, whiffing a quartet. Brandon Workman relinquished two runs on two doubles and a walk; striking out one in two frames. Jamie Callahan walked one and struck out one in the final inning, picking up his second save.

Bryce Brentz and Steve Selsky each swatted a pair of hits and drew a walk in their four forays; Brentz belting a bomb. Jantzen Witte had a single and a double in three at-bats. Dan Butler bopped a double in three trips. Mike Miller, Sam Travis, and Rusney Castillo each contributed a single in four attempts. Ryan Court walked twice and had two hitless appearances. Brian Bogusevic was unable to reach in four forays.

The PawSox have won eight of their last nine games.

Portland Sea Dogs (28-31)

Sea Dogs whiff a dozen times, get shutout 6-0

Travis Lakins went six innings for the first time in AA but picked up his fourth loss, granting two runs on six hits and a walk; whiffing two. Jacob Dahlstrand pitched a scoreless seventh, walking one and striking out another. Jake Cosart was only able to record one out, surrendering four runs on a home run and three walks. Josh Smith inherited a bases jammed situation and allowed all three runners to score on a hit by pitch and a single before picking up the final two outs of the eighth.

Mike Olt managed a single in three tries. Jeremy Barfield and Tzu-Wei Lin each laced a single in four at-bats; Lin was caught stealing. Josh Tobias was hit by a pitch and had two hitless appearances. Danny Mars walked once and struck out thrice. Cole Sturgeon, Jake Romanski, and Nick Longhi were unsuccessful in three attempts. Rafael Devers suffered four frustrating forays.

Salem Red Sox (40-25)

McGrath gives up grand slam, Salem loses 6-3

Shaun Anderson allowed two runs on four hits and four walks over four innings and two batters; striking out a quartet and hitting a batter. Daniel McGrath walked four while picking up five outs before relinquishing the Trey Stokes Jr. slam. McGrath struck out three of the six batters he put out. Adam Lau surrendered three hits and a walk in his two scoreless frames; whiffing a pair. Jordan Weems gave up a hit and struck out one in the ninth.

Granger Studdard drove in two runs with two singles and a hit by pitch in four forays. Austin Rei roped a single and received a pair of free passes in four trips. Josh Ockimey obtained a single and a walk in four appearances. Mike Meyers drew a base on balls amid three hitless at-bats. Jeremy Rivera dropped a sacrifice bunt amid a trio of failed attempts. Bryan Hudson and Chad De La Guerra each walked once in five excursions. Michael Chavis and Jose Sermo suffered through four failed forays, striking out a combined five times

Greenville Drive (39-25)

Drive walk-off on an infield single, shut down the Fireflies 5-4

Jhonathan Diaz only gave up a walk in his first four innings. However, he could not get an out in the fifth, yielding four runs on a walk, four singles, and a Tim Tebow double before being relieved by Hunter Smith. Smith pitched four scoreless frames, giving up two hits and striking out three. Hildemaro Requena surrendered a hit and a walk in the ninth, striking out one.

Santiago Espinal swatted three hits in five at-bats with a double and the game-winning single in the ninth. Chris Madera also managed three hits – two singles and a double – in four trips. Isaias Lucena and Tyler Spoon swatted two hits in four appearances; each with a double, Spoon adding a triple. Tucker Tubbs and Tyler Hill each thumped a hit in four forays; Hill with a double. Nick Lovullo walked in the ninth after three hitless attempts and would score the winning run. Mitch Gunsolus lifted a sacrifice fly amid three frustrating forays. Lorenzo Cedrola put the ball in play all five times up, recording four outs and reaching on an error in the ninth.

DSL Red Sox (3-6)

Ugueto and Mejias lead the offense in an 8-4 victory

Ronald Gutierrez surrendered three runs – two earned – on five hits and a walk over 2 ⅔ frames; striking out four and uncorking a pitch to the back stop. Eduard Bazardo yielded three hits and whiffed seven in 5 ⅓ scoreless innings. Jose Zacarias allowed a run on two hits and a walk in his ninth inning appearance.

Jose Mejias managed three singles in five at-bats. Reinaldo Ugueto roped a single and a double while drawing a pair of walks in five forays. Freiberg Marin singled twice and was caught stealing in four trips before being pinch hit for by Jesus Chacon who grounded out in the eighth. Marcos Martinez lifted a single and a sacrifice fly while drawing a walk in four appearances. Ronaldo Pulgar and Keibert Petit each punched a hit in five attempts; Petit with a double. Luis Hernandez dropped a sacrifice bunt and was hit by a pitch amid two hitless tries; he also stole a base. Ivan Jimenez was hit by a pitch amid three hitless at-bats. Alexander Martinez also was hit by a pitch in four forays before being replaced by Willis Figueroa who was unable to reach in his one attempt.
