Pawtucket Red Sox (33-29)

Castillo powers PawSox with a pair of bombs in a 6-2 victory

Jalen Beeks allowed two runs on five hits – including a Brandon Snyder homer – and a walk in 6 ⅔ innings; striking out four. Josh Smith made his PawSox debut with 2 ⅓ scoreless frames, walking one and whiffing a pair.

Rusney Castillo clubbed a double, a sacrifice fly, and two solo roundtrippers in his five trips. Dan Butler bopped two singles and a sacrifice fly in his four forays. Jantzen Witte singled, doubled, and walked in his five appearances. Deven Marrero struck two doubles in his five at-bats. Bryce Brentz blooped a single and took a base on balls in five attempts. Brian Bogusevic, Sam Travis, and Allen Craig each contributed a hit in five tries; Travis and Craig with doubles, Travis adding a stolen base. Mike Miller walked once and dropped a sacrifice bunt in his five forays.

Portland Sea Dogs (29-32)

Ball has trouble with the Curve, Portland goes down to defeat 7-1

Trey Ball surrendered five runs on eight hits and five walks over four innings, striking out a quartet. Jake Drehoff delivered three scoreless frames, granting a hit while whiffing a pair. Luis Ysla yielded two runs on three hits – including a Jerrick Suiter jack – in his one inning of relief.

Rafael Devers drove his 12th home run and a single in four at-bats. Cole Sturgeon and Jake DePew struck a single in three trips. Nick Longhi laced a double in four appearances. Josh Tobias earned a base on balls amid three hitless attempts. Mike Olt was unable to reach in three tries. Tzu-Wei Lin, Jeremy Barfield, and Henry Urrutia each suffered four frustrating forays.

Salem Red Sox (40-26)

Blue Rocks stone Salem 8-0

Roniel Raudes relinquished five runs – four earned – in the second inning, giving up nine hits and three walks over his 4 ⅓ innings; striking out four and uncorking a wild pitch. Austin Glorius granted two hits and a walk in 2 ⅔ scoreless frames. Marc Brakeman surrendered three runs – two earned – on two hits – the big one a Travis Maezes moonshot – while striking out one.

Bryan Hudson and Josh Ockimey each obtained a hit in three at-bats; Hudson hitting a double. Mike Meyers tripled once in his four tries. Jose Sermo drew a walk amid two hitless appearances. Jhon Nunez was hit by a pitch and had two hitless attempts. Jordan Betts and Granger Studdard were unable to reach in three at-bats. Chad De La Guerra and Michael Chavis suffered four futile forays.

Greenville Drive (39-27)

Drive drop out of first as the Fireflies take over, 7-2

Logan Boyd surrendered five runs on seven hits – including a Michael Paez bomb – two walks, and a hit by pitch over 5 ⅓ frames; striking out four and uncorking a wild pitch. Pat Goetze pitched 3 ⅔ innings, allowing two runs on five hits – including another Paez shot – while whiffing a trio.

Roldani Baldwin belted three hits – including two round trippers – in four at-bats. Mitch Gunsolus garnered three hits – two singles and a double – in four trips as well. Tucker Tubbs and Steven Reveles each roped two singles in four attempts. Tyler Hill hit a single and drew a walk in four appearances. Santiago Espinal and Chris Madera managed a single in five appearances. Ryan Scott suffered through four fruitless forays, Lorenzo Cedrola contribute five hitless at-bats.

Greenville left ten men on base and went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

DSL Red Sox (3-7)

The Red Sox and Marlins played eight scoreless innings when the rains came and made play impossible. The game will be completed today before the regularly scheduled game.
