We’re All About Teamwork

If you’re here then chances are that you are a baseball fan or very lost. Perhaps you’ve contemplated writing for us, or another site, before but were unsure if you had the right stuff, well, that’s why we’re here. We will help you refine your ideas, research data, and create the visuals necessary to make your work the best it can be. Our professionally developed editorial process and team-first approach will help your ideas come to life.

It’s About the Journey

We believe in a laid-back work environment with no assignments and no timetables, no timetables; there’s no clock in baseball after all (well, not yet anyway). SoSH writers have the opportunity to stretch their legs and let their ideas take them wherever they go – and wherever they arrive, we’ll be ready to help.

The Spice of Life

If you’re familiar with our site then you surely know Ian York’s work and his fantastic work with PITCHf/x data, but we also have Dan Ennis who is cut from a completely different cloth. The point here is that there is room for all types of baseball writers at SoSH, and we’ll encourage you to find your own voice. Further, if you’ve read things here that you disagree with and think that may be an issue then you are mistaken. We welcome fans of all stripes and encourage rational, level-headed discourse.

More Than Writers

Still reading but don’t want to write? You can still be a valuable member of our team. We are currently looking for editors and anyone with experience with WordPress. If you’re still reading and think you’re unable to help, then think again, friend. Follow and retweet us on Twitter, like and share our posts on Facebook, and let us know how we’re doing – good or bad. Tell your friends, family, and mortal enemies about us (a little diplomacy never hurt anyone).

So if you’re interested in joining the team, email Pete Hodges, our Editor-in-Chief, and he’ll get back to you when he remembers to check his inbox (we’ll remind him).
